Frustrated that life gets in the way of pulling out a book or DVD to practice Irish? You might as well turn a mundane task like cooking into a lesson: from writing your shopping list in Irish, to preparing the meal, try and use as many Irish words and phrases as you can and build your skills up in no time.
We invite you to submit recipes translated into Irish. You may want to try your hands on it yourself, or do it as a group exercise? Over time, we are aiming to build a collection which, who knows, may well rival English-language equivalents? Wanted: Gaeilgeoir to moderate this section. Contact Iora Rua via Contact Us button.

A wealth of good Irish-language videos can be found on the web but it can be time- and bandwidth-consuming to find a gem.

A stack of free eCards to send around - most of them containing a cúpla focal. Use them to send birthday greetings, wedding greetings or a bit of a cheer to a sick person. Find appropriate cards for most seasonal holidays (published as the event draws closer).

Learn through Irish poetry. Learning Irish is poetry, put simply. Immerse yourself into some stanza of poetry as Gaeilge, and watch the mists lift over those hills that you need to cross before you reach your destination. (We thought it'd be appropriate to lax wyrically here!)
